CONTROL SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN SUPERVISOR

Treatment Plant Maintenance Unit

Treated Water Operations and Maintenance Division

DUTIES:  To supervise, assign, review and participate in the work of staff responsible for the design, maintenance, repair, modification and installation of electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, analog and digital equipment, telemetry systems, and control systems used in the pumping, treatment and distribution of water; to ensure work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures; and to perform the more technical and complex tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility. Exercises administrative supervision over assigned workers in other trades.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Experience:  Four years of experience in the maintenance, installation and repair of electronic sensory and control systems including two years at the journey level and one year of administrative or lead supervisory responsibility and Training:  Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by college level course work in electronics or a related field.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:  Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California driver’s license may be required with determinations made on a case-by-case basis. SALARY: $7,635.33 - $9,302.80 per month—Based on a five-step salary plan (Salary will start at Step 1)

Includes PERS (Public Employees’ Retirement System) Member Contribution of 7.407%

SELECTION PROCESS:  (1) The District Employment Application, Supplemental Questions, and any other required documents (resume recommended) will be evaluated for minimum qualifications.  (2) Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications will proceed to an application package appraisal assessment. The assessment score will be weighted 100% in determining the candidate’s ranking on the qualified list.  (3) Candidates who best match the requirements of the position will be invited to interview, which may include a performance and/or written exercise.

NOTE:  A qualified list may result from this examination process and may be used to fill future vacancies.  Position and start date is subject to availability of funds. The District retains the right to repost this position as deemed necessary.
